Mr. William R. Schutt founded MATCOR, Inc., 34 years ago in Doylestown, Pa., which remains the company’s headquarters. Our company has installed corrosion engineering systems in six continents for civil engineering projects, municipalities and businesses facing corrosion in energy, petrochemical, marine, water and wastewater, environmental, pipeline and utility infrastructure.

Early in the company’s history, Mr. Schutt became one of the world’s most recognized systems experts for corrosion engineering. The White House named Mr. Schutt one of the country’s foremost experts in the matter, and MATCOR’s cathodic protection systems set the international standard for corrosion related projects.

MATCOR’s foundation was built on work with steel-in-concrete structures, protecting local Philadelphia and, eventually, global landmarks. In the early years, we were best known as a materials supplier for corrosion prevention, mitigation and detection, but our company expanded its operations to meet the needs of governments and businesses facing the corrosion of various infrastructures.

To build on the company’s foundation, we have expanded our project scope, product applications and staff. We have won four patents for our novel corrosion prevention systems, and every project introduces new challenges that we meet head-on.
