Soil Corrosion Analysis & Testing



We have the resources to provide all required analytical services, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations. In addition, soil corrosion testing and monitoring services are provided in accordance to National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) industry standards. 

Our soil tests performed in accordance with NACE Recommend Standard Practice 0502-2002, External Corrosion Direct Assessment (ECDA) include the following for soil analysis for both in-house laboratory and field pipe investigations:

  • Moisture content 
  • Oxygen content 
  • Permeability

  • Presence of corrosion-activating bacteria

  • Soil texture, internal drainage characteristics

Soil Corrosion testing is available for hazardous and non-hazardous materials, including:

Upon completion of testing, a MATCOR qualified corrosion engineer will provide you with a written report detailing conclusions and recommendations for your specific corrosion concerns. It is our policy to notify you immediately if we determine that a serious problem exists.
