MATCOR steel-in-concrete projects protect structures such as condominiums, balconies, parking decks and major institutional centers. Coastal Communities are particularly prone to corrosion. Salt-infused air present in beach and shore-front communities degrades the steel rebar that supports concrete structures over time. MATCOR has completed work on a number of unique structures such as assessing and protecting the underground tunnels that lie beneath the Philadelphia Art Museum ‘Rocky Steps’ from corrosion and installing a cathodic protection system that protects Franklin Field, at the University of Pennsylvania.
