DESCRIPTION:Join us in Langfang\, Hebei Province\, China\, where Jeffrey L. Didas\, Senior Corrosion Engineer for MATCOR and Vice President for the NACE Board of Directors\, will present:\n“AC Interference\, AC Corrosion & AC Mitigation” \nABSTRACT: This presentation will discuss AC Interference\, AC Corrosion and AC Mitigation. The talk will cover each subject\, provide some solutions and present recent research on AC corrosion. The AC interference discussion will be about the three different types of AC interference that are encountered in the pipeline industry. The discussion will involve the how-why-where and when of AC interference. The AC corrosion discussion will explain the when-where-how and why of its occurrence and what it looks like. Several photographs of AC corrosion will be presented. Finally\, AC mitigation will also be discussed and cover the various methods for mitigating AC including modeling for designing the mitigation system. Systems will go from simple to complex and a case history for a 42” natural gas pipeline will be included.
