Atmospheric Corrosion Inspection of Above Ground Piping
Inspection of above ground piping for atmospheric corrosion is a critical step in corrosion prevention. It becomes difficult or impossible when pipe supports, hold down clamps, foundations and complex structures limit the ability of the corrosion professional to perform an atmospheric inspection. This paper will discuss industry issues with pipe supports, hold down clamps and foundations, how to mitigate these issues and suggest inspectable supports & hold down clamps for remediation and new construction. |

AC Interference modeling and mitigation materials – Case Study
High Voltage AC Transmission lines can adversely influence pipelines that are collocated along the same right of way. This paper will discuss key requirements of AC Modeling utilizing sophisticated software to analyze AC interference risks and design AC mitigation systems addressing highest potential voltage conditions. AC modeling enables accurate analysis of grounding issues, electromagnetic fields, interference and various aspects of cathodic protection. This paper will discuss a case study of AC interference modeling aids in determining safety risks and requirements for pipeline AC mitigation for Step touch potential, Induced AC, shorted or fault conditions and AC corrosion.

Impressed Current Anode systems for Jetty Piling protection-Case Study
One of the areas where cathodic protection of marine structures is commonly applied is to protect steel piling systems on jetties and piers Every CP design effort begins with a basic decision of whether to use galvanic anodes that operate on the natural potential difference between the anode and the structure or impressed current anodes with an external power supply. This article discusses the design and implementation of cathodic protection on a new construction jetty in one of the country in Far East. In this paper we will discuss the design, materials, installation and commissioning of ICCP system using SLED anodes for cathodic protection of piles. |

Corrosion prevention of aging pipelines with deteriorated coating by application of linear anode ICCP system
As the structures like pipelines are getting older, the number of failures are increasing due to corrosion. Due to aging of the structures coatings/painting deteriorate and conventional CP systems are no longer effective. This Presentation will discuss unique Cathodic Protection solutions specially designed for aging pipelines to prevent the corrosion and increase the life of pipelines. Speciality Impressed Current Cathodic Protection Linear Anodes are designed to be easy to install with minimal field assembly for aging pipelines and Extend life, reduce maintenance, repair and replacement costs. This paper will also discuss one case study of Linear anodes provided on aging pipeline instead of re-coating the pipeline. |
