Water Tank Internal Anodes Design

Impressed Current Systems (ORCA Anode)

  • Vertical Suspended with Weights: Suspended from top support structures with submerged anchor weights.
  • Vertical Attached to Bottom with Floats: Anchored to the floor with flotation systems maintaining vertical alignment.
  • Vertical Attached to Top and Bottom: Fixed tensioning attached securely to both top roof structures and bottom tank floor.
  • Horizontal Tension Systems: Spanning horizontally across target protection zones.

Galvanic Anode Systems

  • Suspended: Suspended directly from the top roof access points.
  • Welded or Bolted: Fixed mounting directly to interior tank sides and bottom.

MATCOR technicians visit your site to collect the electrical transmission, pipeline, and soil resistivity data needed to evaluate fault current and induced AC corrosion risks and identify safety hazards per the latest NACE and industry standards. AC Modeling

AC interference modeling uses sophisticated software to analyze safety and corrosion risks — step-touch potential, induced AC, and shorted or fault conditions — for pipelines sharing right-of-way with overhead electrical transmission lines. MATCOR provides field data collection and complete AC modeling and analysis to determine interference risks and design the right AC mitigation system.

Tank bottom cathodic protection helps protect aboveground storage tanks from external corrosion and extend asset life. MATCOR installs storage tank corrosion protection systems for both new construction and retrofit projects.
